Colours and Curb Styles

Colours

The colour of your decorative landscape edging is based on samples of actual concrete which we bring to your home when the estimate is provided.  These are the base colours used but it is very important to remember example shown to you and not by the representation you see on our website.  This is intended only to show you the range of colours available.  The colouring is NOT applied to the surface of the concrete, it is mixed in with the sand and cement to give the curb colour throughout.

The surface of the concrete can have many looks; smooth with no patterns, a stamped pattern with a release agent added (this gives the older/antique look), a stamped pattern by itself or a stamped brick look with coloured grout lines.

After the curbing is laid and stamped, it is then sealed to prevent weathering.  This seal should be reapplied every two years to keep your curbing from discolouring.

See the range of curbing colours available (PDF).

Curb Styles - Stamping

Curbs can come in many styles and shapes.  There are two ways to stamp the surface, by roller or metal stamp.  See stamp examples (PDF).

All stamping and rolling is done by hand and the surface is then sealed. The curb will set and be hard to the touch within 3-4 hours but 48 hours is needed for it to "cure" and harden.

Curb Styles - Shapes and Molds

There are also many shapes and molds that curbs come in.  See mold and shape examples.

The top grouping shows residential molds while the lower grouping illustrates commercial molds plus the walkway mold.
